Found you!

I woke up to the wind howling viciously outside my window. I tossed and turned but I couldn't get back to sleep, something was keeping me awake...
“Ugh,” I sighed, throwing the covers off my body and walking into the kitchen. I made myself some tea and stood in the dark kitchen sipping it slowing. I finished my tea and tipped the rest down the sink. Just as I was washing up the empty mug I heard a thump. I jumped turning around and my hand slipped of the handle of the mug. “Shit!” I shouted as it hit the ground, smashing into pieces. I rummaged in the cupboard under the sink looking for my dustpan and brush but it was too dark and I kept grabbing other things. I turned around and walked towards the light switch when I heard a sudden scrapping sound. I suddenly froze. Someone’s outside I thought to myself as I slowly crept towards the light switch. The scratching and scrapping got louder. I flicked the light on quickly and spun around. “Who’s there?!” I shouted, running over to the kitchen to grab a knife, watching all them horror movies had got to me.  The was silence. I stood there holding the knife in front of me, whoever was out there was about to go down. Just then the scratching started again, I turned around to the direction the sound was coming from and suddenly jumped. There was a shadow. “I’m not scared!” I shouted, “Come out here!” suddenly there was a loud… “Meow.”

“Oh my god,” I breathed, throwing the knife down on the kitchen counter and rushing to the window. I unlocked the window and looked down to see a little grey cat hanging there on the window ledge. I quickly grabbed him before he fell and dragged him as gently as I could into my apartment. “I'm so sorry! I thought you were a robber!” I cried placing the cat down on the floor.
“Wait here little one!” I called rushing into my bathroom and grabbing a towel. The little cat was soaking wet and meowed constantly as I wiped him down. I assumed he must be starving; he had been trying to get in all night. “Here, I’ll get you something to eat.” I opened a tin of tuna and scrapped it into a bowel. While he ate I noticed a collar around his neck. I gently spun it around and glanced down at the little silver tag. “Tommy!” I smiled.

I knocked on Jane’s door rapidly. After a few minutes the door opened. Jane was standing there in a thin silk dressing gown, her hair in a bun on top of her head; she looked great for someone who had just been woken up at 4 am.
“What’s up Scarlet?” she smiled rubbing her eyes. I stood in my sheep pajamas waving my arms about.
“Jane, I found Tommy! He’s in my apartment, he was stuck outside,” Jane’s face suddenly lit up.
“Oh my god!” she exclaimed.

Once we were back into my apartment, I led her to Tommy who was hiding the corner; I could tell he was scared, his tail was all bushy. “Baby, don’t be scared, it’s me, its mummy!” she smiled, crouching down; I couldn't help but noticed she wasn't wearing underwear. Tommy slowly walked towards her and she grabbed him and hugged him tight. “Thank you Scarlett, you’re such a great friend!” I smiled; it was nice to be referred to as her friend even though we barely knew each other. After the whole James incident I felt completely friendless.
“It’s okay, I’m glad you've found him now,” I smiled tucking my hair behind my hair.
“Hey, what happened, did Tommy do that?!” she suddenly said. I noticed she was looking at the broken mug.
"Oh, no, no,” I shook my head, “I woke up in the night and when I heard Tommy outside I jumped and dropped it, it was my fault.” I told her.
“Let me clean it up,” she said walking over to the mess. I walked over and grabbed her a plastic bag to put all the broken pieces into. I knelt down and helped her. We were nearly finished when we both reached forward and put our hands on the same piece of smashed china. As her hand touched mine I laughed and was about to pull my hand away when I felt her hand wrap around mine and hold it there. I tried to pull away but she stared at me, her pretty eyes were wide and a seductive smile formed on her lips. I blushed, what was going on? I thought as she continued to stare at me.
“You’re so beautiful Scarlett,” she said softly, leaning in, I suddenly backed away and she reluctantly let go of my hand.
“I’m sorry, I don’t understand?!” I burst super embarrassed. She looked down. “Are you… are you bisexual?” I asked nervously.
“Yes, I thought… Scarlett, you’re hot! You found my cat for me… I wanted to-“ I shook my head and interrupted her.
“You’re getting married!” I laughed, thinking how awkward all this had become.
“I know, but Matt doesn't like that kind of thing, I thought all guys liked watching girls, I certainly do!” I looked at her my mouth hanging open. This was soo crazy.
“Jane, why are you marring him if you want to see other people?” I asked.
“Is that the only reason you pushed away, because of Matt?” she smiled, walking towards me. I didn't know what to say, I’d never kissed a girl before and I’d never felt attracted to one but she was beautiful. I let her come closer to me then suddenly I spoke, my mouth dry.
“No, Jane, I’m not… I’m not into that, please can you leave?” she looked sad and left silently with Tommy.

I crept back into my bed a sighed heavily. I reaaaaly wanted to call Billie and tell her everything but we hadn't spoken in days. I didn't know if she was angry with me or just upset. And what was up with the whole Jane situation? I thought we were going to become friends but now it would just be super awkward. I fell asleep thinking about Jane and Matt. Part of me wanted to tell him that the person he was going to marry just came on to me but I didn't want to ruin what they had, if what they had together really was love…

  1. I have been reading your posts and think your story has potential but I have to say the grammatical mistakes and spelling mistakes are very distracting. Defiantly instead of definitely and wasn't instead of weren't ror example, maybe a proofreader would be helpful? I would like to keep reading though, the story is fun and I like your character development so far.
